Our Story

​

Stoneburn Station is a family owned and operated Sheep and Beef Station located in the Nenthorn Valley of Otago.

​With an annual rainfall of approximately 700mm the farm sits between 300m to 750m above sea level on rolling hill country, typically late summer and autumn can be very dry.

​

​Stoneburn is currently running 12,000 stock units on 4,900ha with ongoing development the stock numbers are increasing annually.

 

The Matheson Family farmed Stoneburn for close to 100 years before it was purchased in 2008 by The Lindsay family from Isla Bank. Alasdair and Judith’s son James has managed the property since 2014 where he now lives with his wife Janey and daughter Ivy.
